We are pleased to announce that our application has been accepted by Certified Naturally Grown (CNG). We are excited to partner with and support this grass roots initiative as an alternative sustainable farming certification standard. Working with CNG means that we are part of a coalition of small farms working to promote the benefits of not only chemical free farming, but ecological agriculture as a whole. We feel that CNG provides the best opportunity to represent our vision of small...

Our 2017 Tempranillo harvest is complete. All of the grapes are now entrusted to the capable hands of wine maker Linda Donovan and the team at Pallet Wine Co. We couldn't be more proud of these grapes and the hard work our crews put into making this harvest a success. We have lofty expectations for this vintage Tempranillo based on the health and amazing taste of these berries. Next up will be the harvest of our Chardonnay and Viognier varietals. On a side note, we were truly impressed with the...

We are excited to announce that our 2016 vintage estate white blend is finished and ready for bottling. This will be the first vintage estate offering from Apricity Vineyard. Vintner Linda Donovan and the Pallet Wine Company team have crafted a unique blend that will make for a proud first vintage in our new tasting room. Linda describes this blend as: a very aromatic white blend consisting of 33% Viognier and 67% Chardonnay with notes of melon, apricot, pear and tropical fruits. Well balanced...

Some new trees were recently planted at the west pond! As the trees mature, they will help shade the pond and provide cover for the runner ducks. Some native grasses will also be planted around the pond to help beautify and provide habitat for this area. Thanks to Mountain View landscaping and Pennies Worth Acres Nursery for getting this done for us. This should be a great upgrade for this area.

Its that time! With eager anticipation and excitement, we are getting ready for this years harvest. A tour with winemaker Linda Donovan and vineyard manager Juan Sauceda this week confirmed that our Chardonnay and Tempranillo varieties will be the first to be harvested. The grapes are hardy and have been ripening steadily since veraison began. They have amazing textures and balance to go with their beautiful color and we anticipate an abundant harvest this year. We are already looking forward...

Another load of mineral and humus dense compost has been delivered. This load will be spread for the Tempranillo blocks this time, as the Primitivo, Chardonnay, Viognier, Syrah, and Petit Sirah blocks have already been composted this year. Thanks to Southern Oregon Compost for providing the organic Compost and mixing our mineral needs. The vines have already started their nutrient uptake requirements for next years production, so getting this compost spread will be a priority for us. By...

One of our favorite places, Windy Acres Dairy, located in Prineville, Or., was recently featured in Take Root Magazine. We were first introduced to this special family farm during their 2015 Farm to Table Freedom of Choice event. We had the chance to tour their grounds, experience some amazing food, and listen to inspiring speakers including Joel Salatin of Polyface Farm during this event. We have been fans of their passion for sustainable farming practices, small scale food production, and...

A highlight from the attached USDA Organic Insider bulletin states that Washington state accounts for more than 90% of organic apple production and 80% of organic pear production in the United States! The pioneers of Washington's organic tree fruit industry stressed the importance of micro nutrients, the value of spiders and weed management strategies to name a few factors for organic success. As "eco-farmers" we don't...
