Hemp Revolution

We are big fans of industrial hemp.  How could you not be.  It is one of the most renewable resources on this planet.  It's truly natures definition of sustainability.  As the human race continues to destroy forests and mountain sides for building materials, and render thousands of acres of farmland useless with GMO's, pesticides and fertilizers for subsidized industrial agricultural crops, hemp remains federally prohibited to grow in the United States.  The good news is that more and more state governments recognize the importance of hemp and are allowing it to be farmed.  We may yet see the benefits of a new hemp revolution.

Apricity Vineyard is taking an active role in this revolution.  We will be working with Hemp Technologies Collective to incorporate hempcrete building as the focal point of our tasting room renovation.   Be sure to stay connected with us on Facebook and Instagram for updates on how we are supporting hemp farming, by building with it.  Our partners at Certified Naturally Grown are big supporters of this revolution also.  You can read some of their recent blog posts on how they are supporting hemp farming, by promoting its farmers:

Thanks S&R! We are excited to be a part of this movement. We think its time for not only States, but Counties, Cities, communities, neighbors, and individuals to promote this amazing resource. We will continue to do everything we can to support the hemp farmers in our community. This is just the first step. Our tasting room will be a teaching resource on the merits of hemp sustainability. Stay connected with us for updates.

Awesome! I can’t wait to see how it all looks in the new tasting room. What a great new way to use a product that has always been around.
