Congratulations to the pioneers of organic tree fruit in Washington state. A highlight from the attached USDA Organic Insider bulletin states that Washington state accounts for more than 90% of organic apple production and 80% of organic pear production in the United States! The pioneers of Washington's organic tree fruit industry stressed the importance of micro nutrients, the value of spiders and weed management strategies to name a few factors for organic success. As "eco-farmers" we don't think the importance of micronutrients can be overstated, especially when considering their importance in productive soil biological systems. For more information on weed management strategies, check out our upcoming K.U.L.T Kress demo day and be sure to visit our Facebook event page for more information.
